Common Winter Two-wheeler Problems: And Their Solutions!

Riding a motorcycle in the winter condition is a challenge in itself. On top of that, if the motorcycle grudges and grumbles while starting up, the entire experience becomes a whole lot worse. Winter problems are especially rife in carburated motorcycles, but even in fuel injected motorcycles these problems can definitely exist. Let us check out the most common winter motorcycle problems along with their solutions.

Start-Up Problems (Low Battery or Dirty Spark Plug)

the most common headache inducing problem that many motorcyclists face in the winter is the vehicle refusing to start! This could be because of one of 2 reasons. Either the battery is down, or the spark plug has become dirty. the solution is to have a battery tender connected to the motorcycle battery when you're not riding the bike so that battery stays topped up for those special occasions when you plan to take the bike out inventor. If the spark plug has become dirty, you can either have it cleaned by taking it to certified mechanic, or do it yourself, or entirely replace the dirty plug with a new one. If the motorcycle still refuses to start up, the problem could be somewhere else, and it will definitely need the attention of a certified mechanic. the best way to prevent all of these problems to take the motorcycle for preventive maintenance before winter starts. Also make sure to keep the bike covered and the battery tender whenever not using it. If possible, consider investing in a fuel injected machine.

Low Grip Situation (Summer Tires)

During the winters, the road surface become slippery and slick with deposition of ice particles on top of it. In most cases, the deposition of ice particles is not visible to the naked eye, which is why accidents happen. Preventing that is quite simple. All you need to do is to replace the normal road tires with specifically designed winter tires for better grip and traction on the road. Even if you have the right tires on the motorcycle, make sure that you are riding slow within a manageable speed so that you can bring the motorcycle to a stop in case of an emergency. Just like the bike needs a pair of good winter tires, you also need a pair of good motorcycle riding boots that are designed to provide better grip on slippery surfaces.

Severe Weather Conditions

The cold temperature of winter becomes especially uncomfortable when you're riding a motorcycle. Because of the inherent design of a two-wheeler, you don't have any vendor protection, which means you will have to compensated with the proper motorcycle riding gears. The most important of them is definitely a full-face premium motorcycle helmet along with the right riding jacket and a pair of boots and gloves to go with it. If the temperature is too severe, you will also need to wear additional ternal clothing such as a balaclava, and thermal inner well in addition to the motorcycle riding gears. For those extremely cold days, considered taking the car instead of riding your bike.

Lack of Vision Clarity (Helmet Fogging)

a major problem of riding a motorcycle in winter is the low visibility condition due to fog, or condensation hanging in the air. Also, many riders prefer to ride under the influence of alcohol 27, which is illegal, but definitely not completely out of the question. Account for these riders and drivers by staying aware of everything happening around you and improving your situational awareness. Use a premium helmet design by the best helmet manufacturers that comes with the Pinlock® technology on its visors so that the visor never fogs up even when the temperature drops significantly.

Don't let the inclement weather prevent you from enjoying your special winter rides. Just make sure to be safe with the top-quality motorcycle helmet and other riding gears at all times.
